Masturbation from the Latin word masturbatione, defined as the act of masturbating, in other words, to induce orgasm through stimulation of own genitals by means of hand friction or device aided seeking sexual pleasure. Quite popular in adolescence, throughout centuries this sexual practice was laden with sexual taboos, sex myths, fairy tales and preconceived idea. As a result of religious and cultural precepts in various societies gets to be condemned and deemed as sexual deviation.

Currently masturbation is viewed more naturally as one aspect of the human sexuality.

By the way, despite some religions and cultures posed against its practice, increasingly is the number men and women of all ages, who rely on masturbation and whoever hasn't tried yet, makes intentions obvious.

Considered beneficial by modern medicine, masturbation may aid in offloading erotic-charged tensions, as well as contributing to the psychophysical wellbeing of humans. Meaning that whoever is into it knows own body deeply and the sensations aroused through a good go leads to orgasm much the same as in a sexual relation.

Humans tend to rely on their hands in search of sexual pleasure. Men clasp their penises with their hands, while thrusting to and fro until orgasm reaching. Pace boils down to individual preference and varies accordingly. Yet, women employ their hands touching their genitals, especially the clitoris. With motions whether circular or sideways or even upwards and downwards. Usually they start with gentle movements and then some. Let it be said, most women reach orgasm through masturbation not so through sexual intercourse of the penetrative kind. In this case, many get down to genital manipulation during the sexual act in order to reach orgasm, ultimately.

Solitaire masturbation is becoming an old hat nowadays, given that relationships are discardable and safe sex tops the agenda on busy sexual affairs. To emulate sexual fantasies, flicking through glossy magazines, virtual sex, on top of sex toys or sex devices are some of the resources tapped on by those right into masturbation.

A point to be bought across is that masturbation no matter how pleasurable won't replace an all out sexual relation. To be on your own, do it yourself, it's an option but unlikely to make up for camaraderie and complicity of a couple having sex.

I strongly believe in the importance of masturbation for the sake of sexuality as plentiful and with no boundaries. Laying on self-knowledge by getting to terms with biological patterns as in discovery and re-discovery of sensations and experiences to be shared with the other-half, as a way of heightening a sexual relation.
